Herpes Divine Timing
I have heard it (and I’m sure you have too) before.
“When the time is right.”
“I didn’t understand why I didn’t get this (insert job, opportunity, relationship) but I do now.”
Is there such a thing as divine timing? That you might not get something at one time and it will show up perfectly in another. Or you don’t get an opportunity and, as it turns out, there was something better for you instead?
This happens all of the time. I hear it from clients and I experience it myself.
So what happens when something really unexpected (and perhaps unwanted) happens?
IT SUCKS!
Herpes is one of those things.
I have yet in my 29 year career to ever hear someone say, “Oh my god, I am so glad I got Herpes when I did” or “Herpes is the best thing that ever happened to me.”
I imagine I’ll also never hear it in the remaining years of my career, either.
It is never a good thing to get news that you have a—let’s be honest—chronic illness. Herpes is a chronic illness. It’s in your body forever, sometimes sleeping, waiting to be activated. That part is the hardest. You don’t know when you might be more contagious or when you might have an outbreak. You can track what brings an outbreak on but there’s no way (unless you have a swab and access to a lab to examine the swab) at the ready.
So what is one to do when you get Herpes? You do the best you can to live with it. You get to know it intimately and learn about what things it brings up that you must deal with now that you have it. And you can learn how to live with it.
You might benefit from some help, though, and it’s ok to seek help. I facilitate groups of women coping with Herpes, in fact I even have FREE MONTHLY GROUPS with a group of different people every time. If you would like to be with the same group, I have a 12-week group, too. It is amazing how much people who know what you’ve experienced can help you. And you can help someone else in the group too. Sometimes, we aren’t able to see ourselves and our struggles with as much clarity as someone looking from the outside can.
So, while there is no divine timing for Herpes to come into your life, you might just find that it helps you in other ways that you aren’t able to see at the time…. and THAT is the divine timing.
